The Composition of the Steering Committee
Steering Committee Members are elected at every annual Consultation to serve for a 1-year term, until the next elections are held. The 2009-2010 Steering Committee members were elected at the 2nd Asia Pacific Consultation on Refugee Rights (APCRR2).
All are elected positions, except for the Host Organisation position, which is automatic, and the Appointed Representative(s). These are in accordance with the APRRN Articles of Association adopted at APCRR2 which state that: “The Host Organisation for the APRRN Secretariat will be entitled to have one representative on the Steering Committee” and “To ensure refugee representation, the Steering Committee must appoint one woman and one man from a refugee background to the Steering Committee if one woman and one man from a refugee background have not already been elected.”
Details of the previous Steering Committee (2008-2009) can be found in this document: APRRN SC 2008-2009
